On Sunday the 1st April the gardens at Holker re-open to the public. To celebrate we are taking part in the National Garden Scheme's Daffodil Day.
On 1st April 2012 seven gardens the length of Cumbria will be opening for visitors to enjoy Daffodils in all their variety.
Holker Hall is the most southerly of the gardens opening for the Daffodil Legacy.
Holker will start its season on 1st April by opening its garden for NGS. Cumbrias ‘Cartmel to Carlisle: Wordsworth’s Daffodil Legacy’. Over the decades the garden has been planted with drifts of Daffodils and more are planted each year.
The NGS is an independent charity but continues the tradition of raising money for community based nursing and caring charities as well as horticultural support and education.
