About the Holker Estate

The Estate has numerous businesses in addition to opening the Cavendish family home, Holker Hall & Gardens, to the public and managing the Holker Festival. This website has information about our other businesses which include Cartmel Racecourse, Foods of Excellence, two Luxury Holiday Parks in South Lakeland and one in Scotland and the Holbeck Homes development at Barrow-in-Furness.

Holker is at the heart of 17,000 acres of rural Cumbria encompassing a major proportion of the Cartmel Peninsula. The Estate has a long tradition of farming through the craftsmanship of tenant farmers who produce cheese, honey, prime Shorthorn Beef, seasonal Venison and game and the famous Holker Saltmarsh Lamb.
