Holker Hall is one of the best-loved stately homes in Britain. Magnificently situated on the edge of Morecambe Bay, the Hall and Gardens are set in beautiful countryside framed by the Lakeland fells. Every year numerous visitors are attracted to Holker by the 25 acres of immaculately kept gardens.
We are now seeking a part-time, casually employed, seasonal gardener to work with our existing team, on an ad-hoc basis. The Gardens team strive to achieve consistently high levels of presentation of these world class gardens, working under the guidance of the Head Gardener.
The successful applicants must be highly motivated and have the ability to work to the same high level independently or as part of a team. Additionally a willingness to adapt and improve existing skills and knowledge is necessary together with an enquiring mind.
Discretion and high professional standards are essential as are the need to be flexible, courteous and to have an eye for detail. Holker Hall Gardens offer the scope to care for formal herbaceous plantings, topiary and box hedging, lawns, a unique collection of shrubs and trees and planters. Other areas include woodlands, a flower meadow, kitchen garden and houseplants growing in glasshouses.
Flexible, casual hours by arrangement.
