The Food Hall

The Food Hall at Holker Hall is set in the elegant Courtyard at the heart of the Estate within the traditional farming area of the Cartmel Peninsula.

The Food Hall is the place to come for exceptional, Estate raised meat, such as the famous Saltmarsh Lamb (now available out of season frozen ready for you), prime steaks from the Shorthorn Beef herd and Venison. A much wider range of seasonal game and oven ready game dishes are available to order at any time of the year.
We are able to take orders for a range of meat to ‘fill your freezer’, please contact us directly to discuss your requirements and collection arrangements.

Newly arrived at the Food Hall are additions to the extremely popular ‘Teonis’ biscuit range,. Who will be able to resist the chunky marshmallow biscuits ? great for dunking in a large mug of tea! If your taste is more sophisticated, try the new ‘biscotti’ range with exotic almonds and chocolate variations ~ bringing the coffee shop into your home.

The Food Hall also features an excellent range of traditionally made cheeses, including the seasonally available St James’ ewes milk cheese made here on the Estate, deliciously creamy goats cheeses and the ever popular Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire Cheese and several more. In addition to this array of fresh local produce, the Food Hall has a wide selection of chutneys, jams and honey, much of which is made locally by small producers who take an enormous pride in the quality of their produce.

The Courtyard Bakehouse here at Holker now also produces a wonderful range of seasonal fayre, included in our ‘Made for You’ range are Sticky Ginger Bread Loaves, Lemon Drizzle Cake, Meringues and scones freshly baked every day, which are available in the Food Hall. Our chefs at Holker have created a range of dishes for you to enjoy at home, our range of ‘Made for You’ meals are full of the best ingredients and are ready frozen for your convenience with tempting dishes as tender chunks of beef in read wine with vegetables, spicy mini Moroccan meatballs, succulent chicken breast in a red wine and mushroom sauce ~ all ready to take home and enjoy.

The Food Hall stocks a great range of locally brewed beers, with such old favourites including ‘Laughing Gravy’ and ‘Celebration’ from Ulverston Brewing Company as well as ranges from Cumbrian Legendary Ales and Coniston Brewery ~ you’ll be spoilt for choice.

For children of all ages there is a wonderful selection of traditional and retro sweetie range designed to bring back nostalgic memories and tantalize new taste buds. There’s an array of tempting exceptional quality chocolate from Willie Harcourt - Couze and Seed & Bean, blending exotic silky chocolate with sea salt, tangerine or just a dark, plain richness.

Hampers and Gift Baskets are available all year round, whether it’s Mothers Day, birthday just because you care, we can make up a Gift Basket from £10.00 and arrange delivery anywhere in the U.K. just contact us.
