The Food Hall

The Food Hall at Holker Hall is set in the elegant Courtyard at the heart of the Estate within the traditional farming area of the Cartmel Peninsula.

The Food Hall is the place to come for exceptional, Estate raised meat, such as the famous Saltmarsh Lamb (now available out of season frozen ready for you), prime steaks from the Shorthorn Beef herd and an array of seasonal game including Pheasant, Venison and much more available to order.

The Food Hall also features an excellent range of traditionally made cheeses, including the St James’ ewes milk cheese made here on the Estate, deliciously creamy goats cheeses and the ever popular Mrs Kirkham’s Lancashire Cheese. In addition to this array of fresh local produce, the Food Hall has a wide selection of chutneys, jams and honey, much of which is made locally by small producers who take an enormous pride in the quality of their produce.

The Courtyard Bakehouse here at Holker now also produces a wonderful range of seasonal fayre, included in our ‘Made for You’ range are Christmas cakes and puddings together with Sticky Ginger Bread, Lemon Drizzle cake, Meringues and scones freshly baked every day, which are available in the Food Hall. Our chefs at Holker have created a range of dishes for you to enjoy at home, our range of ‘Made for You’ meals are full of the best ingredients and are ready frozen for your convenience.

The Food Hall stocks a great range of locally brewed beers, with such old favourites as ‘Old Man Ale’, ‘Bluebird’ and more recent additions including ‘Laughing Gravy’ from Ulverston Brewing Company, together with wonderful gift packs of beer ~ perfect for the men in your life.

For children of all ages there is a wonderful selection of traditional and retro sweets, a spectacular Christmas sweetie range all designed to bring back nostalgic memories, for the sophisticated taste bud there is an array of tempting exceptional quality chocolate from Willie Harcourt - Couze and Seed & Bean.

Christmas hampers and gift boxes can be made to order, from as little as £7.50, you can select the contents and we’ll wrap it beautifully for you – the perfect gift for anyone!
