Holker Food Hall, in its elegant Courtyard setting, is at the heart of 17,000 acres of rural Cumbria encompassing a major proportion of the Cartmel Peninsula. The Estate has a long tradition of farming through the craftsmanship of tenant farmers producing cheese, prime Shorthorn Beef, seasonal Venison and the famous Holker Saltmarsh Lamb. This is local fresh, seasonal food at its very best and wherever possible we try to keep the carbon footprint to the minimum.

May and June News from the Food Hall

At the moment we are selling Herdwick Lamb from Geoff Long at Kirkby in Furness, the meat is dark and rich in flavour.  The joints make a succulent roast dinner for the family.  The lamb also goes well with one of our best sellers - Tangier Cous Cous from Gustosecco.

Over the past weeks we have had the first cheese from Martin Gott at the Holker Farm Dairy.  It is a young and creamy cheese called 'Swallet' - St James' returns to us towards the end of June.

With the Festival soon approaching we will have a range of Holker Shorthorn Beef available on the showground as well as the new season Holker Saltmarsh Lamb.

Other products just in include apple and damson juice from our friends at Moss Howe Farm and delicious cordials in a range of flavours from Kendal Cordials.

For those of you with more a sweet tooth there is a new range of confectionary from Days Gone By, supplied by Hope and Greenwood.

For dedicated cooks we have new season oil in from A Gift of Oil and a wonderful new chilli range from Mr Vikki.

At the Food Hall our aim is to take the best produce from the Holker Estate and beyond, to transport your palate on a journey from the shores of Morecambe Bay across valleys, lakes and fells.

Come and try the fine Ewes Milk Cheese made by Martin Gott or the rich flavour of Oak Smoked Cumberland Farm House Cheese, amongst many other uniquely British Cheeses from our delicatessen counter. The Food Hall also has a huge range of gourmet and speciality foods.
