Wicked Walks, Loathsome Lanterns, Fantastic Food and Gorgeous Gifts at Holker Hall & Gardens this Autumn.

Wicked Walks in the Holker Garden: Children can follow the Holker guide on a Halloween walk full of mystery and spooky shadows. Wander through the trees and glades, through the Pagan Grove and Labyrinth to the witches’ cottage deep in the magical garden.

Why not get into the spooky spirit and come in fancy dress.

Guided walks take place on Sunday 27th, Tuesday 29th and Thursday 31st at 11.00am and 2.00 pm and tickets are priced at £3.50 per person.  Places are limited so pre-booking is recommended.  Children must be accompanied and the walks are suitable for 3 years upwards.  (Maximum of 2 adults per child)

Self Guided -Halloween Garden trail

If you would prefer to tour the gardens at your leisure, but with an extra dimension to interest our younger visitors, why not purchase a Halloween Quiz sheet?  You’ll need to be keep you wits about you as you try and spot our pumpkin clues dangling in the spooky shadows. (Available during garden opening hours – Sunday to Thursday).  Sheets cost £1.  Garden admission is charged – Adults £7.50 and children free.

Loathsome Lanterns: Bring along your own carved lantern, be it pumpkin, turnip, squash or marrow and take part in the pumpkin competition!  The best one will win a prize.  Judging will take place at 12.15pm and 3.15pm daily.

Creepy Crafts: Hands-on Halloween craft activities will take place on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday in the activity room. Drop-in sessions, in both the morning and afternoon, will run from 10.30am-12.30pm and 1.00pm-3.00pm priced £3.50 per child. No need to book.

Cauldron Café: The Holker Courtyard Café will also be serving delightfully disgusting food straight from the cafe cauldron.

 

Holker Winter Market -Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th November 10.30am – 4pm

Fabulous Food and Gorgeous Gifts

Stock up on some local produce and artisan gifts as the Winter Market returns to Holker with 45 stalls all showcasing the best produce on offer for the festive season.  Start your Christmas shopping with a trip to the Holker Gift Shop, including the chance to buy some exquisite decorations for Christmas.

Discover perfect foodie gifts at the Holker Food Hall with a selection of delicious sweet and savoury treats, including a variety of gift boxes and hampers.  Round off your trip to the Winter Market with a visit to the cosy Courtyard Café and sample some seasonal, local and speciality foods, warm up with some mulled wine and indulge in the Holker BBQ which will be serving Holker meats.   Enjoy the live music & street entertainment along with children’s activities.

Holker’s newest event for 2017, The Holker Spring Market has been well received, with exhibitor space fully booked weeks in advance.   Taking place on Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st May 2017 the event will bring together a fine selection of home, food, garden and gift exhibitors set in the bustling Courtyard and Piazza.
