All pieces are lovingly handmade by Kate in a small studio in Ulverston using yarns from carefully sourced British and Italian spinners, and an old knitting machine once used in the Borders.
Kate graduated in 2010 from Winchester School of Art with a BA(hons) in Fashion Knitwear. Gaining valuable experience whilst working for lifestyle brand Toast, she then moved back to Cumbria to found Oubas, and she’s still only 25!! In fact the name 'Oubas' is derived from 'Oubas Hill', the area where all pieces are designed and created in Ulverston, Cumbria. Kate takes inspiration from the rich landscape to create her unique accessories, combining traditional craftsmanship with a contemporary eye.
