Gary and Pete will be bringing their refreshingly laid back attitude to gardening in to the Holker Garden Theatre, where they will share stories of their amazing TV show experience, as well as life as allotment gardeners.
Best friends and IT specialists, the pair became familiar faces on our TV screens as they reached the semi-finals in the first series of the popular grow your own show. With the ethos - maximum yield for minimum effort, the bearded duo share an allotment in Hove, East Sussex, along with a passion for home grown produce. On their patch of land they aim to grow fruit, vegetables and flowers, and by popular demand, they are now cooking and selling their pickles and preserves which featured on the show!
They can also occasionally be found donning a hat and veil; tending to their bees, and many posts on their blog - www.garyandpete.com showcase their homemade honey, bees wax furniture polish and even mead! Quite fitting, as the Holker Garden Festival also welcomes the Furness Beekeepers Association who will be attending to promote the craft of bee-keeping, and give help and advice to people interested in keeping bees.
