With just over 2 months to go, planning is now full steam ahead with several new elements to be added to this year’s line up.
“We’re excited to announce that the Rural Crafts Association will be attending in June. We’re constantly looking for ways to refresh the show and give visitors something new to enjoy on the showground. The RCA’s craft pavilions are full of wonderful makers from across the country; it will be a real crowd pleaser and the perfect addition to the Festival.” Festival Manager, Jillian Rouse.
‘The Rural Crafts Association is delighted to be taking part in The Holker Garden Festival for the first time this year. Our pavilion presents an exciting range of craft and art work from all over the UK, meet the makers and enjoy learning about design and raw materials. We welcome you to step into a creative world and rediscover the art of enjoyable shopping.” Karen Hall, Rural Crafts Association.

This weekend’s damp weather didn’t affect the fiery fun at Holker with a full house for the chilli eating competitions hosted by Darth Naga. A packed Courtyard watched on as 10 competitors (on each day) took part in the lively competition. Saturday’s competition was the most entertaining yet with Darth commenting it was best one he had ever hosted - humorous contestants were encouraged by the lively crowd - with Jordan from Barrow taking centre stage. Joint winners took the trophy on Saturday and Ed Duffy was crowned Sunday’s winner after reaching around 250,000 scovilles.
