We currently have a vacancy for a full-time seasonal general worker (February to end November) for our Old Park Wood Holiday Park located near Grange-over-Sands.




We currently have a vacancy for a full-time seasonal general worker (February to end November) for our Old Park Wood Holiday Park located near Grange-over-Sands.

This role is full-time working 40 hours per week including weekends and additional availability to cover holidays and sickness.

Some experience of operating machinery and equipment is desirable.  The key tasks would be to undertake site maintenance work including grass cutting, strimming and rubbish clearance in order to maintain the highest standard of appearance on the Park with a dedication to customer care.   A good level of health and fitness is required for this role.

A competitive remuneration package will be offered.

Full house for popular chilli eating competition

This weekend’s damp weather didn’t affect the fiery fun at Holker with a full house for the chilli eating competitions hosted by Darth Naga.  A packed Courtyard watched on as 10 competitors (on each day) took part in the lively competition.   Saturday’s competition was the most entertaining yet with Darth commenting it was best one he had ever hosted - humorous contestants were encouraged by the lively crowd - with Jordan from Barrow taking centre stage.  Joint winners took the trophy on Saturday and Ed Duffy was crowned Sunday’s winner after reaching around 250,000 scovilles.

All fired up for the 4th annual Holker Chilli Fest

Do you know your Jalapeños from your Scotch Bonnets?  Whether you’re a fiery food fanatic or a chilli newbie, the new trend for specialist chilli events across the country gives everyone the chance to experience the delights of the Capsicum.


Now in its 4th year, the Holker Chilli Festival in Cark-in-Cartmel, Cumbria is an entertaining combination of chilli plants and produce, speciality food and good old family fun.  Taking place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th September 2017 and staged in the bustling Holker Courtyard, this lively event is growing fast with over 4,000 visitors last year.

Holker’s newest event for 2017, The Holker Spring Market has been well received, with exhibitor space fully booked weeks in advance.   Taking place on Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st May 2017 the event will bring together a fine selection of home, food, garden and gift exhibitors set in the bustling Courtyard and Piazza.

Ospreys return to Nature Reserve at Holker Estate

A pair of Ospreys have once again returned to Natural England’s Roudsea Wood and Mosses National Nature Reserve on the Holker Estate.
