Holker’s pop-up pub and pizza oven to make welcome return this summer
HOLKER’S popular pop-up pub and pizza oven is making a welcome return this summer.
The laid back and friendly event begins on Saturday July 6 from 3pm. It will continue every Saturday afternoon through July and August.
The free event will offer visitors to Holker Hall and Gardens the chance to enjoy real ales and freshly prepared woodfired pizzas while relaxing in the beautiful surroundings of The Courtyard.
This year, the pop-up pub will offer beers and real ales from Hawkshead Brewery as well as spirits from The Lakes Distillery.
Homemade pizza will be cooked to order on the day, with the introduction of special Holker-themed versions such as estate-reared venison.
And in a bid to ensure the event is as environmentally friendly as possible and to enhance the unique alfresco feel, there will be no disposable packaging or plastic glassware – with all pizzas and drinks served to the table fully plated.
Ben Glover, manager of The Courtyard, said the pop-up pub and pizza oven had been very popular following its introduction last summer.
“The atmosphere was wonderful on Saturday afternoons through the summer last year as visitors were able to enjoy a drink and good food with friends and family in these unique and special surroundings.
“This year we’ve got a range of beers from Hawkshead Brewery and cocktails from The Lakes Distillery, as well new versions of our freshly made pizzas.”
Ben added: “The whole team is looking forward to welcoming visitors to this lovely, seasonal event.”
