Visitors enjoy classic day out at Holker’s summer food and plant fair
FRESH local produce and plants from some of the best growers across the North West and beyond attracted hundreds of people to Holker Hall this weekend.
The popular summer event took place on Sunday, August 25, with visitors enjoying a classic day out at the 400-year-old stately home.
Heather Creasey, Holker Hall and Gardens manager, said the fine weather had added to the magical atmosphere of the seasonal market held in The Courtyard.
“We were thrilled to see so many people enjoying a day out at Holker and making the most of the stalls filled with artisan produce and plants.
“We know lots of people also seized the chance to enjoy a sit down in lovely surroundings with a treat from our Courtyard Café which added to the bustling atmosphere. It was a perfect afternoon.”
The food market and plant fair, held during the August Bank Holiday weekend, has become an annual event at the location near Grange-over-Sands.
It will be followed by the popular Chilli Fest which takes place on Saturday and Sunday, September 7 and 8.
Heather added: “Every day is magical here at Holker, but doubly so when we’ve got something special lined up for our visitors.
“We’re now looking forward to Chilli Fest which is packed with family-friendly entertainment and food from specialist producers across the country.”
