Three days of craft, creativity and festive cheer

What a weekend! Holker Winter Market once again lit up South Cumbria as the biggest seasonal market in the North West outside of Manchester — and this year, it truly felt extraordinary.
Across three magical days, thousands of visitors wrapped up warm and stepped into the vibrant autumn atmosphere within the grounds of one of Britain’s most loved stately homes. Against the backdrop of Holker’s historic architecture and sweeping parkland, guests discovered a marketplace bursting with creativity, flavour, and festive spirit.
An unbeatable showcase of local artisans

More than ever, 2025 was a year to celebrate the region’s makers. From hand-thrown ceramics to wood-craft, jewellery to textiles, candles to original artworks — every stall was a testament to the passion and talent of independent artisans across the North West.
Whether shoppers came searching for that one-of-a-kind seasonal gift or simply to admire the craftsmanship, they left inspired — and often carrying a bag or two more than planned.
A feast of flavours from near and far

Holker Winter Market’s foodie offering was bigger and more delicious than ever. Bakers, confectioners and chocolatiers filled the air with the scent of festive treats, while local brewers, distillers and cider makers showcased the area’s finest small‑batch drinks. Cheesemakers drew long, eager queues with irresistible samples.
It wasn’t just produce to take home — the street food section was a vibrant international journey that included Jamaican, Greek, French, Italian, Himalayan, Texan, Thai and Spanish cuisines in a veritable feast for the eyes and tastebuds. Alongside hog roasts, locally‑reared burgers, wraps and traditional fish and chips, the hardest part for many was choosing what to try first.
Music, magic and moments to remember
Live entertainment brought energy to every corner of the grounds. Cumbria Collective and a lineup of brilliant local performers provided the soundtrack to the weekend, ranging from acoustic sets to upbeat seasonal favourites.
The excitement spilled onto the pathways too, as roving street performers kept families laughing and smiling — with crowd‑pleasing appearances from the spectacular Andy Jesters and theatrical favourites Bread & Butter Theatre. Friday evening saw a spectacular Light Parade unfold thanks our junior head dress makers and the irresistible rhythms of Drum Nation.
Enjoying the Hall & Gardens
A special treat for many each year is complimentary access to explore both the Hall and the formal gardens — something thousands took advantage of between browsing, snacking and enjoying the entertainment. For many, it was their first time discovering Holker’s rich heritage and beautifully evocative outdoor spaces.
Thank you for joining us

Holker Winter Market is only possible thanks to the brilliant makers and food producers, talented musicians and performers, and of course our dedicated Holker team. Most importantly, we thank our wonderful visitors, who bring the festive spirit with them.
Plans are already underway for Holker Winter Market 2026 — and if this year is anything to go by, it is set to be even brighter and more exciting than ever. It will take place on Friday 6th, Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th November.
We look forward to welcoming you back next year.
