The Courtyard Café
Our Chef’s seasonal menus concentrate on locally sourced ingredients from makers and suppliers across Cumbria.
With the option of indoor and outdoor seating, the Courtyard Café is the perfect setting to enjoy a relaxing break while exploring the estate, from freshly brewed tea and coffee and delicious home bakes, or something more staple from the ever changing lunchtime menu. For a special occasion why not try a sumptuous afternoon tea with a glass of fizz.
From time to time over the summer the Courtyard also plays host to the Bess & Barrel, our pop-up-pub – see ‘What’s On’ for dates.
At the Café you will find plenty of seating both inside and out. Even on a chilly day you will find warmth and shelter in the courtyard beneath our canopy and outdoors heaters.
We are proud to be dog friendly, welcoming your Holker Hounds with open arms, water bowls aplenty, and our ‘Canine Corner’ to keep them occupied.

Afternoon Tea
Indulge in a delightful afternoon tea experience, featuring local produce – delicious finger sandwiches, tempting bakes and fresh fruit scones. Afternoon Tea includes admission to the Gardens.
