Holker Estate has a variety of landscapes including mixed woodland, farmland, moorland and estuarine marshland. This provides extensive sporting interest from shooting and stalking to fishing.
The Estate lets some of the shooting and stalking rights across the Estate to local syndicates, including the wildfowling areas around Morecambe Bay. It is possible to purchase an annual permit to fish for flounders in the River Leven from the Estate Office.
The Estate is working towards the regeneration of heather moorland at Kirkby Moor, an island moor in the South Lakes area, and has reintroduced red grouse in recent years.
