Our events are often the highlight of the Holker Hall year. They create so many great memories for both staff and guests. Which is why this year, we are absolutely delighted to be hosts of The Wild GOAT Festival. But what actually is it? And what do you need to know?

What is The Wild GOAT Festival?

Imagine the perfect combination of food, music, and sport, and that is The Wild GOAT Festival in a nutshell. Created for people of all ages, Wild GOAT is a truly inclusive festival, with something to offer to almost everyone – especially those who like sport. Onsite camping is available for the whole weekend, with four cooked meals provided for every camper. Or you can simply buy a day ticket and pop along for your favourite events.

What’s on during the festival?

Wild GOAT is a three-day festival, and there will be a range of activities available across the weekend. You can find the full itinerary here, but some of the highlights include:

  • The Holker social run
  • Wild athletics
  • Morning stories for the younger campers
  • Yoga and Pilates for runners
  • The gravel bike bash
  • Families on Track
  • Mechanic workshops
  • 3 Peaks Cyclo Cross
  • Live music
  • Hill climbing
  • Trail running
  • Kids activities, including archery and athletics
  • Chats with special guests Paula Radcliffe (three-time winner of the London Marathon and former World Record Holder. Founder of Families on Track.), Steve Cram (BBC Athletics Commentator, former 1500m World Champion and World Record holder), Chris Thompson (European Championships Silver medallist, Olympian & British Long-Distance Runner), and Non Stanford (World and European Triathlon Champion).

When is the festival?

This year, the Wild GOAT festival will take place between Friday 31st May and Sunday 2nd June 2024.

Where is the festival being held?

At the Holker Hall Estate. You can find us at Cark-in-Cartmel, near Grange-over-Sands in Cumbria. Or simply enter our postcode into your sat nav: LA11 7PL.

Ummm, what’s all that got to do with goats?

Absolutely nothing! The GOAT in question stands for the ‘greatest of all time’. And while we don’t want to sound over-confident, we think that this year, that might just be the case! So, why not come along and see for yourself?
