The Holker Winter Market is one of the most anticipated events in our calendar. To help you plan your visit, we’ve put together answers to the most common questions.
Please note: as the event approaches, our small team will be busy on site with extensive preparations. During this time, we may not be able to respond quickly to telephone, email, or social media queries, so we encourage you to check here first.
How do I buy a ticket?
Tickets are available online in advance until midnight before each Market day. Online tickets are £1 cheaper than tickets purchased on the gate. If you prefer, “walk-up” tickets are available each day at the event.
Are there concessions?
No. Concessions and discounts (including RHS, Historic Houses, or Gardeners’ World membership) are not valid on Winter Market days.
Can I visit just the Hall or Gardens without the Market?
No. The Winter Market is a full, site-wide event across all three days (Friday 31 October – Sunday 2 November). A Winter Market ticket is required for entry.
Can I enter the Hall or Gardens before the Market opens?
No. Gates open at set times (see the What’s On section of the website for opening hours). There is no early entry.
Can I explore the Hall freely with my Winter Market ticket?
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, Hall access is by guided tour only. Tours depart from the main hallway every half-hour, beginning one hour after the Market opens. Numbers are limited per tour, so please allow extra time and join the queue with your valid ticket.
Is there Blue Badge parking?
Yes. Spaces are available only to vehicles displaying a valid Blue Badge, which must be shown on arrival.
What should I wear?
This is an outdoor event and the weather can be changeable. Please dress appropriately for the conditions and wear sturdy footwear. Parking is in a field, and you may need to walk some distance to the Market area.
Are dogs allowed?
Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the Market areas and Gardens, but not inside the Hall (except assistance dogs).
Which is the quietest day?
All three days are lively, but Friday is traditionally the quietest. If you prefer a little more space, we recommend visiting then.
We look forward to welcoming you to Holker Winter Market – a festive weekend filled with shopping, food, and seasonal cheer in the beautiful setting of Holker Hall & Gardens.
