As we close the chapter on 2023, we find ourselves looking back on what has been a fantastic year for Holker Hall. We welcomed many of you to our home throughout the year, and some of the photographs you’ve managed to snap have left us speechless. So let’s take a look at some of our favourite photos taken this past year.

Towards the end of the year, Holker welcomed itself to a chilly change of seasons. With this came a beautiful blanket of snow, which covered our grounds, gardens, and hall. Some didn’t seem to mind this, however! As many of you will know, Holker’s land is populated by countless fallow deer, and as you can see here, our friends really took to this change of scenery by posing for photos.

It’s hard not to be entranced by the hall from the first moment you lay your eyes on it. From the neat architectural details through to its relationship with the seasons, we’re truly lucky to have such a charming piece of history at our disposal. This image in particular captures all of these characteristics of the hall, along with the addition of some blossoming berries, signifying the start of spring.

We’re very fortunate that, within our 25 acres of land, we have our breathtaking gardens with an abundance of floral beauty. Originally laid in the 19th century, even after all these years, many people visit for the sole purpose of an enchanting stroke through our gardens. If this photo doesn’t make you want to visit us, then I’m not sure what will! As Annette states, “I love how winter light filters through the bare branches, bringing a glow to the topiary,” and we could not agree more.

It’s not just the outside of Holker that is rich in delight! Our hall’s interior displays a rustic and chic style that resembles the time in which we were founded. Captured perfectly here, you will see one of the many bedrooms within Holker. Featuring vibrant fabrics, intriguing patterns, and high-end furniture, this image captures the elegance of Holker perfectly.

One of our many charming features here at Holker Hall is our Courtyard Cafe. A cosy and quaint spot where you can enjoy the most delicious of dishes. As seen here, the cafe is a peaceful relaxation checkpoint on your Holker endeavour where you can rest up and refuel after taking a stroll through the gardens or a tour in the hall. As you can see here, people love it, and you will too should you choose to visit us!

We can’t wait to see what other photos will come out of your visits to Holker Hall over this new year!
